Odd Fashion for Weird People.

“Drip” Shoes

These shoes I painted exactly after “Alice’s Boots“. I used the same leather paint to add some cool drip effects to make the shoes look like they’re melting. I wanted to use inverse colors to make them match, but also mismatch. I used an acrylic paint pen to outline the edges of the shoes in pink and green.

Now, this was long before anything “Wicked” related. The movie had not even been announced, and the only ways to consume the Broadway show were through a show or reading the book.

The pink and green colors were only because that was the color of paint pens I happened to have at the time. I also thought they might cover up the rather not-so-smooth edges of my paint job.

I also figured the paint pens would help add a pop of color while also bringing out the contours of the shoes’ unique shape. I do still own these shoes to this day and still wear them quite frequently.
