This is, you guessed it, another Edwardian blouse. I know most people have seen the Temu and Wish ads for those beautiful, silky Edwardian blouses. However, as usual, they don’t have my size.
So, I can fix that.
Now, originally, this project deviated from the original design so much because of the exceptions I had to make due to JoAnn’s going out of business. By the time I needed to get the fabric for this project, there were four types of fabric left at my local JoAnn’s. Most of them were upholstery fabric, while one was this tacky, pleather, cheetah imprint sparkle fabric.
I
HATED
it.
But, luckily, the inside was this velvety tan fabric, so I decided I could suck it up, turn the fabric inside out, and use the fuzzy inside instead. Plus, the pleather texture on the inside gave the fabric a way to cling to me.
However, this project was still a pain to make. The endless amount of ruffles I had to make, then sew, then make more of. IT WAS INSANITY.
But I still love the style of this shirt, even if I plan to remake it in the future with a different fabric.
