Clown Pants #3

These are my latest Clown Pants creation. The original idea was to dye the light blue denim pants in three different spots with some light blue left over, but as you can see, I didn’t exactly let the dye rinse out fully after the purple, and it kind of leaked a little.

The dye was supposed to stop at a hard line, but dying fabric rarely works like that, sadly.

I took one of my favorite pairs of wide-leg cargo pants and dyed them, then added the ruffles everywhere before finally adding elastic to the ankles to create a cool flare effect. This project was a little difficult as I didn’t want to cut or seam-rip anything, which meant I had to fit a lot of fabric on my sewing machine to not sew the pant legs closed by accident.

There are eight layers of ruffles total. The ankle ruffles have three sets of ruffles; the one ruffle above only has one, the pockets have one three-tiered white ruffle, the row above that has two layers of ruffles, and the white finally returns for the waistband.

These pants are a brand new creation, having been completed on October 23, 2025.
