Norse Culture, most well-known for the Marvel addition of their gods, however, Marvel’s edition is a little more “watered-down” than the actual mythos portrays. This piece was inspired by Loki, the trickster God in Norse Mythos that both couldn’t catch a break and couldn’t let others catch a break.
I wanted this piece to add to the rugged terrain the Norse would often travel across. They tended to wear a lot of fur, letting barely any part of the animal go to waste, and most commonly tended to have Runes carved or sewn into their belongings. This was for protection, good luck, or even used as a prayer.
I was also going a little stir crazy with the dresses and needed some cargo pants in there to spice things up. I feel like the Norse would’ve really appreciated modern cargo pants.
Anyway, this piece is a collection of fur trim, leather, gold, well-worn fabric, and glass or epoxy for the corset.
Hence, Reflection of Norse Culture.
