The Ugly Reflections Collection was the original idea I had for the LU fashion show. This idea was to reimagine the Disney Villains as a sort of reflection of the ugly parts of ourselves that we often try to hide.
To me, the Evil Queen from Snow White represents Vanity.
She was obsessed with this version of herself where she was the most beautiful of them all, and I think that speaks to a lot of us. We all try our best to make due with the body we are given, weather it fits, or not.
I wanted this design to reimagine her as a powerful tyrant, hungry for a beauty that she is unable to see in herself.
But dresses and gowns get boring when you see them so much on Queens. I think she deserves a pair of pants and a military style jacket for her role as queen.
She’s not too far off from becoming an empress…
