History Reimagined: The Duke

The Duke.

This look was a little more difficult to flesh out. I had a lot of movies to use as inspiration, but I wanted the Duke to look different from the rest of the designs. This meant a deep dive into fabrics, designs, and historical figures and what they would wear to get this accurate while still adding a modern flair.

The silky-ruffle shirt was inspired by a design I saw on RedNOte, a Chinese app similar to TikTok.

The cape was an addition that I thought would give the Duke a more refined look. The look of an aristocrat.

There’s several chains and additional jewels to really give the Duke a more sophisticated and rich look. I figured some high-waisted pants would help tie together the look a little better than a corset.

If there’s anything I’d change about this look, it’d be the bottom of the pants. Instead of a cinched ankle, I’d change that to a straight let for a more modern, fitted look.
